Reckless Recap: 10/21/15 Cubs 3/Mets 8 "No Crying in Baseball"

by Boutros Boutros Ghali

Home run Hammel gave up two homers in the first inning and the Mets scored four runs. The Cubs scored three runs the entire game. There's your reckless recap.

Now that we are past that, get your heads out of your hands and quit your loser-ass whining and fucking crying! I have heard way too much of that garbage already today and it's only 9am and I live in Colorado for goat's sake. I can't imagine what it must be like in Chicago.

If you played for the team this year and you want to feel bad this morning, feel free. This Cubs team played well all year and this loss was not for lack of trying. I'm sure it hurts a bit. FOR THE CUBS!

I'm positive that if I was the fan that I was in 2008, which I once was, I would have been sad too. But I have evolved as a Cubs fan. You should too and it starts with not dwelling on these last four games.

Don't allow yourself to be inundated with the casual fans crying because the stupid Back to the Future prophecy did not happen or think that Daniel Murphy is the reincarnation of a goat from 1945 (he's a goat's ass, but not THE goat). Go find Cubs fans that understand what this team is and what it is going to be.

And guess what? Rizzo, Castro, Baez, Russell, Bryant, Soler, and Schwarber are all super young and under contracts that will keep them in Chicago for the next five years if the Cubs want to do that. Seven guys out of the nine required to play this game and they are all 26 or younger. That is a team I am excited about cheering on over the next bunch of years. Hopefully they grow together and become better and better as they do.

Do you know why everyone still loves the '69 Cubs? Because they were good and they were all together for so long. Every year Cubs fans got to go cheer on the team that they knew from the year before and watch them get better. We have that opportunity now.

That is a rare thing in this day and age where teams turn over their rosters constantly. These guys might get traded, they might have bad years and not be what we hoped, but right now the future looks bright. I believe these guys will bring the championship we hope to see.

This season has been fun. Let it continue to be fun. Quit crying.
